A fix for this could be making blocks break slowly every 5-10 seconds

That wouldn‘t work because you could still replace the blocks really quickly while being out of reach. But it would make it certainly much harder to get those long times. Maybe you could also make the Platform smaller so you can‘t place blocks while being out of reach.
